SEE-Beyond Dates & Application Process
2025 important dates:
- Application opens: Monday, January 27
- Information sessions:
- Wednesday, February 5 | 12:00 - 1:00 pm | Zoom
- Friday, February 21 | 3:30 - 4:30 pm | LI 129 (Media Viewing Room)
- Application deadline: THURSDAY, March 20 | by 12:00 pm (noon)
- Decisions announced: Friday, April 11
- Proof of experience due: Friday, May 1
- Awards distributed: Early June

Required documents
- (2-3 pages, double-spaced)
- Describe how the experience aligns with your educational goals. Explain the preparations you have made and how the experience will enhance your liberal arts education.
- Selection Criteria include:
- Quality of the application essay
- Substance and rigor of the experience
- Alignment with your academic goals and preparation
- SEE-Beyond Supervisor Agreement Form(if available)
- If not available by the application deadline, submit by May 1

Selection criteria
Applications are evaluated based on the following:
- Quality of the essay: How well you explain the relevance of the experience to your education.
- Substance and rigor of the experience: How challenging and valuable the experience is.
- Alignment with academic goals: How the opportunity connects to your academic background and future aspirations.
SEE-Beyond awards are highly competitive. Proposals with the potential to significantly enhance your academic and professional development are ranked highly.
Important information:
eligibility
- The SEE-Beyond Award is intended for unpaid or minimally funded opportunities with a summer stipend of $2000 or less.
- If you are already being paid more than $2000 for the summer, your experience is not eligible for this award.
- Please note that if you receive a SEE-Beyond award, you cannot accept other ۴ý awards over the summer (e.g., SEF, Project for Peace, Collaborative Research).
- You may only apply to one department or program. (Students who submit more than one application will have their applications pulled.)
late or incomplete applications
- Late application will not be considered-12:00pm EST is a hard deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered, nor are there extensions. There
is no penalty for submitting before the deadline.
Traveling? Submit before you go. Studying abroad? Avoid time zone confusion and submit early. Class projects and exams coming up? Submit early. Worried about last minute tech. glitches? Submit early.
The 2025 application is now closed. Check back in January 2026 for next year's SEE-Beyond.
